We had some lively discussion at our recent Spiritual Roundtable. One can be a psychic, and one can be a medium. Mediums are psychics, but not all psychics are also mediums. A psychic is one who uses a form of divination and/or the reading of energy to provide information and guidance. A medium is someone who not only uses energy, but also receives information from their spiritual team and loved ones who have passed away to provide a message specific to the client.
What kept coming around during our time together is that we all are in charge and we all are the ones who keep the rules/contract with our team. We create boundaries so that we are not constantly bombarded with spirits trying to communicate.
If you don't want to be disturbed while you're working, tell them you're off limits to receive during your work schedule.
If you don't want to be woken up in the middle of the night, or unable to get to sleep because "they" want to talk, then tell them to leave you alone during those hours.
If you aren't able to understand what they are trying to tell you, ask them to relay the information in a way that you can interpret and pass along to those that need the information.
Feel free to give them a sign when you're available: ie, when I take my hat off (or when I have my hat on); when I'm awake during these specific hours; when I wear a specific piece of jewelry; always when you're with a client for a reading; or any time there may be blood or death involved.
You are the boss and you make the rules on how and when you communicate with spirit.
